Sand Castle Pictures

If you love the beach, I am sure you love sand castles, too! Today I want to spoil you with a few sand castle pictures I took whilst on a short holiday a few weekends ago.

My family and some of my friends went down south to Preston Beach, which is a small little community about 45 km south of Mandurah, south-western West Australia. As there is not much to do but to either play golf (duh! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) on a huge golf course littered with real-life Kangaroos and lots of … Kangaroo Poo, or to go to the beach, we decided to spend most of our 2 days lazing around the big wide open spaces on the beach!

The husband of one of my friends happens to build sand castles, and he always takes his “tools” with him when he goes to the beach, from a shovel to a trowel (hey, that rhymes!), and then gets right into building the most beautiful sand castles, much to the delight of all the children and quite a few onlookers, too. Of course they are encouraged to help (the children, not the spectators! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), and so are the mums!

So here are the results of the 2 days down by the beach:

Well, what do you think? Is this a beautiful Sand Castle or what? I think everybody was really proud of the combined effort and result! Unfortunately, when we came back the next day it was all but gone, but that’s the way of sand castles by the beach….

So we came all armed and ready again the next day, to build Sand Castle Number 2 and make it even bigger and better! Have a look and judge for yourself….

Although not very professional as compared to those done by really pro people, these kids did a great job there! Nice sand castle done.

I also enjoy building sandcastles, however the recent snooker training has kept me busy from doing so. I so envy you having such a nice castle.

When I first read this post I could not help but smile because it reminded me of my grade school days which we used to spend as a family down at the beach. Looking at the pics made me yearn to dash off and relive those days

  18. MJ says:

Inspiring post, considering that I don’t usually walk along the beach let alone build sandcastles myself! It’s been some time since I’ve been travelling overseas and going to Palawan Beach is part of the itinerary. So I thought it’ll be cool to try to build ’em again and that’s when I found this post! Thanks for the wonderful pictures!

  24. Hello there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!

  25. Petra Weiss says:

Hi there, if you go into your plugins section within your wordpress admin area, then go to “install new” and type in “si captcha” that will then come up with the plugin that most people use. Just click on “install”, then activate, and you should be up and running! I actually did this just then because of your post, I did not have one installed and got around 300 spam comments a day! So thanks for reminding me that there is this option! ๐Ÿ™‚
