Nautical Wall Decor – Lobster Creations
Whilst looking at images relating to the beach on Google the other day, I stumbled across some fascinating nautical wall decor by an artist in Florida. John Rankine has been doing nautical art work for 28 years, and I think he has developed quite an artwork in itself!
These are stunning pieces of a very unique kind. Just perfect if you like to really bring the beach and ocean inside (or outside for that matter) – I think you can nearly hear the seagulls cry just looking at these pieces.
John creates all his art by hand in his studio, and he only uses genuine driftwood from the beaches of Florida and lobsters that have been hand caught following state regulations. He uses only the shell of the lobsters, of course, and the meat is used for consumption prior to turning the lobsters into nautical wall art.
This lobster wall decor that you see in the pictures is not the only art John creates. He also custom designs lobster trap coffee and end tables with different lobster configurations, or driftwood picture frames. How authentically “beach” that is! John only uses natural and recyclable materials.
You can even bring your own prize lobster to be turned into your very own piece of art work! Just go and visit Lobster Creations to find out more, or to contact John. 🙂

I love handcrafted art pieces.. My house is full of those. Lobster creations website also looks very nice. Lovely
That is a beautiful and unique piece of artwork that would look fantastic in a “beach” themed room and I like the fact that John uses natural and recyclable materials in his designs. I also love the header you use for this blog – the very peaceful and tranquil beach setting suits the blogs theme perfectly

The wall decors looked very well-made, and the lobsters still looked very much alive! Handcrafted art are very good decorations in any home and the fact that these are made from just shells are just awesome! No creepy taxidermy, LOL! Btw, loved the blue theme of this blog
Wow! Awesome! Looks great when you hang them up on the wall. Nice!
Wow, this nautical home decor looks amazing. It looks like it not a home product. The quality is very satisfactory and really made professionally.
I’m normally creeped out by lobsters but this wall decor looks awesome. How come the lobster in the second picture is shining? Looks like John has used tiny lights all over the lobster shell 🙂

Most of nautical wall decor is seen in the house of a seafarer’s.Knowing that there job is in the sea. They are attracted to pieces of design which have meaning in their life and so they collect beautiful items in relation with nautical or sea creation.
Hi nice piece lol! Hey I really wanna buy such piece. How much does it cost? Is it possible to get it through online? I am gonna start a new restaurant exclusively for sea foods. I think this theme will go well with that and yeah it will definitely attracts and credibility too ri8? Can anyone help me? Ty.
Hand crafted art is very impressive. Natural decor is very relaxing to the eyes and it will not cost you a lot of money to make a nautical wall decor. Having this as your decoration in your house makes it very relaxing and peaceful.

Hi Linda, I could suggest to follow this link: Seagull Decor, then click on “Coastal Decor”, then “Coastal Decor Accents” and then “Birds Collection”. This is a start, but I will look for some more seagulls for you!
They actually look really good. I’m not a big fan of lobsters but i reckon they look nice as wall decor.
Great setups, I especially love the first one. And I love the nautical theme, there’s so much great stuff you can do with it!
Hi John,
THat is some great art work. Lobster Taxidermy. I like how you have the sea shesll & lobster together. Have you ever seen fish taxidermyor bird taxidermy….? I make those for a living in Canada, but your team must be the best in Florida.
Nautical Home Accents, that is a great comment. The sea is so big & vast that no one knows all of its history….who can other than the Creator. One thing for sure, we are able to freeze some of the earth’s most beautiful ocean life with fish reproduction or fish taxidermy.
