Shark Near Shore!

Well, well, well, we have had a bit of a disturbance here where I live – someone caught a 2.7m Tiger Shark right here near our beautiful beaches where we swim with our kids during the day, not even 2km away! Have a look at the story about a Shark Near Shore and have a look at the (kind of frightening) picture:

Shark Near Shore

Shark ON Shore!

And as it so happened, my husband and my son were actually at the scene on that night to do a little fishing (!!!), and they saw the angler bring in the shark. It was all very exciting for my 9 year old.

But whether you believe it or not, even though I hate sharks, I still feel kind of sorry for this fella, as it looks like he has gone through a fair bit of suffering before he found his end. I do not wish a death like that to any living creature.

As beautiful and peaceful the beach can be, there are other things lurking beneath the surface that might not be all so pretty! Thank God we only see the beautiful side of it most of the time. Will I keep going in the water with my kids? You bet! Now that the shark is gone…. (hahaha). Yes, but only up to my waist, honestly. I don’t want to be shark bait! 🙂

At the Coogee Beach Jetty here in Perth, south of Fremantle. It’s scary though to know that this came so close to shore, where kids swim etc. !
